Its GO TIME for our third year in the Shitbox Rally for 2024. Bendigo to Townsville in October 2024. We need your help to raise our minimum $5000 for cancer council. Firstly we wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support last year with our rally to raise money for Cancer research.
By way of update, we finished off the Spring 2023 Shitbox Rally from Port Douglas to Adelaide with only one flat tyre and a few tall stories to tell. It is an emotional experience being in the rally which kicks off with a presentation from the Queensland Cancer Council regarding the progress they have made directly from the Shitbox Rally contributions.
Really makes us feel like we are part of something and we can only do that with your help. Team Mule Graters raised $18,000 for Cancer Research. Thankyou to all of you who contributed to raising the money and helping us make the car viable for the rally. Over the past 14 years, Shitbox Rally has raised a little over $46 million dollars for Cancer Research.
That in my book is amazing and hopefully will help find a cure for this terrible disease. The experience was quite uplifting and gave us a sense of achievement, with your help, we now know we made a difference we believe, only through your help and support. When we finished the rally, we immediately said we would go again in 2024 – route being announced from Bendigo Victoria to Townsville Queensland.
Your support for our rally last year was tremendous and we would like to see if you may be willing to take the plunge again and support us for this year’s rally.
Amelia did so well in last years rally, and she will be making the trek from Bendigo to Townsville in October – we have a few things to fix up before she makes the start line.
Thanks again….. Love your work and appreciate your consideration.
Kind regardsPaul and Craig
Shitbox Rally is the adventure of a lifetime challenging participants and their cars, worth no more than $1,500, on a 7 day drive across Australia to raise money for cancer research.
The rally is not a race – it’s a fun, colourful, unpredictable adventure with participants travelling at their own pace in smaller groups. Vehicles often break down but “we never leave anyone behind” and each night is spent camping beneath the stars and celebrating the day’s achievements. It all adds up to an incredible opportunity to see Australia’s vast and beautiful countryside and make lifelong friends, many brought together after experiencing cancer themselves or seeing cancer impact family and friends.
Since it’s inception the rally has been the largest fundraiser for the Cancer Council nationally.
Shitbox Rally is a dedicated fundraising event for cancer research with funds going to Cancer Council.
Cancer Council is one of the largest non-government funders of cancer research in Australia. We conduct and fund research studies across all cancers and all stages of the cancer journey.
Thanks to the community funds raised such as Shitbox Rally we can fund world-class research that reduces the impact of cancer for everyone.
$46 million over the past 15 years has been raised by Box Rallies to date, supporting ground-breaking projects such as:
These projects wouldn’t be possible without your support.
